Learning all of the necessary skills that are important pertaining to your studies is what you will need to learn in understand not only to pass your classes, but to also be able to successfully complete college and be prepared for what you will expect to continue to learn and hopefully enjoy doing as well once you get out of college. Take a Fun Elective Class
No matter what your major is, nursing, engineering, accounting, creative writing, business, or anything else, we recommend that you take an elective class that is something that piques your interest! Whether you’re interested in the campus newspaper, radio station, graphic design clubs, theater and art clubs, a sorority/fraternity, a sports team, and lots more, there are all kinds of incredible things that you can get involved in on campus to keep you distracted from the lingering stress that you may be experiencing from classes.
Decorate Your Dorm Room/Apartment
You can’t go through the college experience without decorating your dorm room or apartment! Decorating can not only be a way to prepare you for the beginning of your college career and get you ready to start a new year, but it can also be a great way to express yourself too.
There are countless ways to decorate your apartment and you can even decorate it according to the holidays and seasons too. This is a great way to destress and it makes it your safe space and a place where you can relax after a tough day of classes or after taking a super hard exam.
Make Friends For a Lifetime
You can’t go through life without some friends to keep close to you whenever things are going south, so we recommend getting out there and making some friends while in college! Are you nervous to put yourself out there and get to know people? We understand how intimidating this can be, but the best place to start is with your roommate.
For most people, roommates end up becoming the first person that you can make friends with. Since you live with them on a day-by-day basis, it’s important to get to know them and potentially explore the campus with them, and even help and support them along the way. Of course, you can also make friends just by mingling with classmates and by checking out some on-campus clubs, activities, or events that are going on as well!
Plan a Trip For Spring Break
Spring break is something that lots of college students look forward to and why is that? It’s because it’s a break from classes and almost the end of the spring semester! Now, you may be someone who just wants to take the time out to go home and be with family, or even just study, which is perfectly fine, but we also recommend that you go away for spring break at least once!

There are a lot of places that students enjoy going to for spring break. Many students prefer to get away to warmer weather and spend that time with their friends at the beach, but you can also plan a road trip and check out national parks, and many other incredible places around the world. Spring break is a great way to get away from your studies and just have some fun before finals approach.
Apply For an Internship
Something that you should 100% try to get in your junior or senior year of college is an internship somewhere local, or even remote that is along the lines of what you want to do whenever you graduate. Internships are a great way to be able to get the real life experience that you’re looking for when it comes to graduating and entering the workforce.
Internships are also a great way to make connections, which is important while you’re in college. Making connections can help you get into new career opportunities that you never thought possible and the more experience to put on your resume, the better!
Go to a Sports Game
Are you a fan of sports? Even if you’re not the best at following football, basketball, or whatever sport your college is known for, we recommend that you check out at least one sports game while you’re in college! No matter if you’re someone that is a die hard sports fan, or you just like to be at the games because of the energetic atmosphere, we think that this is something that you have to include on your bucket list no matter what!

Get to Know Your Professors
One thing that you should definitely do while you’re in college is get to know your professors, especially the ones that are teaching classes that pertain to your major. Classes are all about enhancing your education on new things pertaining to what you want to do whenever you graduate, and it is quite possible that you will also struggle along the way.
Don’t worry though, because you have your professors to fall back on! By going to their office hours and asking for extra help, or even just stopping by to say hi and introduce yourself is a great way to make connections while on campus so they can write you reference letters, give you job recommendations, and more!
Volunteer On-Campus
Something that everyone should do when they get the time, including college students, is to volunteer your time somewhere and help out where needed. There are lots of places to volunteer at to make a difference no matter where you decide to go.

You can easily do a quick search in your area for places to volunteer your time at, and you can even check out what is available on campus. From volunteering at animal shelters, on-campus events, political campaigns, tutoring, youth organizations, and lots more, volunteering is something that everyone should participate in, so make sure to do it while in college too!
Study Abroad
If at all possible you can do it, we recommend that you study abroad for a semester! Each campus has a lot of opportunities when it comes to studying abroad in other countries, and it’s a fantastic experience to be able to involve yourself in a brand new culture or setting while still getting college credits too.
Lots of campuses offer many different countries to choose from when it comes to studying abroad, running from Japan, France, England, Ireland, Greece, China, and more. You name it, and your college probably has it! Studying abroad is perfect to get in all of those electives that you still need to take while also giving you the opportunity of a lifetime.
College is the time to live it up by making new memories with people that you will know and come to cherish for the rest of your life. There are so many amazing things that you can do that you don’t want to waste any time or take it all for granted at the end of your college experience.
